Alzheimer’s help at local hospitals

When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, it is just the beginning of a long, muddy road. Because Alzheimer’s patients often differ in their symptoms and stages of the disease, help may be needed from time to time even when a caregiver is available. The caregiver often gets burned out and depressed having to be sole source for the patient’s help. One of the best places to get help is through a social worker at the local hospital. The social worker can often give the caregiver lists of permanent and/or respite care homes. She may also be able to lead the caregiver to organizations that could help with expenses.
