Collecting A Court-Ordered Jugdment

If you have won a judgment in City Court there is still the need actually collect the debt. This is approached by waiting the thirty (30) days, the Court will mandate for the debtor to make full payment. If the 30-day period is expired as per the Court record then the creditor has several options to pursue. The first is to attempt to seize personal property or any asset as payment. Secondly, the creditor may file a lien on real property held by the debtor. Lastly, the creditor may file a wage garnishment or a income execution to collect the owed amount. The onus to collect is on the creditor. More info: judgment enforcement New York
