Hospice provides treatment for those patients that can not be cured. Hospice is currently covered under Medicare Part A. To be eligible, the patient must provide proof that they are terminally ill. A physician can provide medical records as proof. The patient must state that they are no longer looking for a cure, but want supportive treatment during the illness. Medicare provides hospice both in the home or in a residential treatment center. Before choosing a hospice service, make sure they are able to receive Medicare payments.
